Cookie Policy
Last updated
This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item Website Monitor uses and what each one does.
Summary
Website Monitor sets one essential cookie when you sign in and stores one display preference in your browser. It sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Because everything we use is strictly necessary or a preference you choose, there is no cookie consent banner: there is nothing optional to switch on or off.
Visitors who are not signed in, including visitors to public status pages, are not given any cookie by us.
What we use
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
wm_sessionCookie, essential | Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token; the server stores only a hash of it. It is HttpOnly (scripts cannot read it), SameSite=Lax, and Secure on HTTPS in production. | Up to 14 days from sign-in, or until you sign out. |
wm-themeLocal storage, preference | Remembers whether you chose the dark, light or system color theme. It never leaves your browser. | Until you clear your browser storage. |
What we do not use
No analytics cookies, no advertising or retargeting cookies, no social-media widgets and no third-party scripts are loaded on this website. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before loading anything optional.
Third-party content
A public status page can show a logo from an address its owner chose. The visitor's browser requests that image directly from the owner's host, which can see standard request details such as the IP address. We send no referrer with that request and we do not control what that host does.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie you will not be able to stay signed in. Clearing site data removes the theme preference, and you can change the theme at any time in Settings. See the Privacy Policy for how personal data is handled.
Changes
We update this page when what we store changes. Questions: (this deployment has not configured a contact address yet).
